Team Leader, Tch Risj and Info Sec

Summary

Northern Trust is currently looking for an enthusiastic candidate to lead the Access Controls Operations team.  In this capacity, this individual will be responsible for providing second line oversight over access controls, review and challenge to the first line, and independent reporting and escalation of issues.  Additionally, this individual will serve as an advocate for access management best practices.

Major Duties

• Design and execute tests to gauge the effectiveness of access controls.
• Analyze and identify root cause of issues discovered over the course of testing.
• Collaborate closely with first line teams, technology teams, and the Access Oversight Council on remedy of access control issues.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand their access requirements and perform the top / down and bottom / up analysis required to develop roles catered to their needs.
• Manage day to day requests for updates to existing roles and / or creation of new roles.
• Support business stakeholders with periodic review and refresh of segregation of duties (SoD) rules.
• Create access related metrics for the Access Oversight Council.
• Set the Access Control Operation team’s priorities based on the priorities established by the Access Oversight Council.
• Train Access Champions and ensure they are up to date on current access control best practices.  Create job aids and training material required to support Access Champions.
• Provide mentorship and support to team members.
• Work with team members to establish career objectives and goals.
• Monitor team member performance and provide guidance as required.

Experience & Qualifications

Required Skills
 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Takes ownership of work responsibilities and deliverables
• Ability to interact with a diversity of individuals and teams within the organization
• Strong aptitude to develop and maintain internal and external business relationships and to leverage those relationships in pursuit of their day to day goals and responsibilities
• Project management – Being able to manage multiple on-going assessments
• Strong time management – Being accountable to meet deadlines and deliver status updates
• Knowledge of IT Security Domains / Frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO27002).
• Basic knowledge of system, network, and operating systems
• Knowledge of system administration concepts for Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems
• Ability to participate and understand cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.
• Ability to consistently meet project or departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with data analysis

Preferred Skills/Certifications

• Experience with Identity and Access Management
• Understanding of IT Audit process / IT Audit Experience
• CISSP, CISA, or CRISC certifications

Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least six or more years of experience in the field of Technology Security or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
