We are currently seeking a Technology Business Analyst to join our Subject Matter Expert team in the Investment Operations Outsourcing business unit of Northern Trust Global Funds Services. The Technology Business Analyst will use their strong knowledge of Excel VBA macro development to support our business’s Cash Processing and Foreign Exchange service teams. We are seeking a self-starter willing to learn the existing business process and have the freedom to improve and optimize the current state through technology and process improvement. 
Responsibilities of the Technology Business Analyst:

Provide on-site, expert-level advice, support, and troubleshooting to all business unit macro users. 
Act as liaison between business users and off-site macro development team for issues related to using, testing, and developing macros.
Identify improvement opportunities and create or review business requirements to address business needs.
Solve complex macro problems and create solutions for various business processes using Excel VBA or other process automation solutions.
Provide macro development as needed during periods of peak demand 
Establish and maintain Best Practices relative to the lifecycle of macros
Maintain governance over our inventory of macros, including access rights, business continuity protocol, decommissioning of obsolete or redundant macros, etc.
Provide advice and training to staff in both one-on-one and group/class situations.
Manage and own daily metrics relative to support, utilizing development tools such as Power BI
Participate in meetings and calls with all organizational levels internally.
Be a key stakeholder in Process Optimization programs to enhance existing process and design an optimal future state

Requirements of the Technology Business Analyst:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical field or Business/Finance with technology concentration
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Excel macro development leveraging VBA required. Experience with SQL\ADO queries preferred.  
Proficiency in gathering business requirements from end users and translating into tactical and strategic Excel VBA/SQL solutions.  Experience with other data and automation tools such as MS Access, Robotic Process Automation, Power BI, or SharePoint workflows preferred.
Familiarity with financial services industry, ideally in cash or foreign exchange processing.
Ability to work effectively on a team
Project management capabilities preferred.
A self-starter willing to learn new developing technologies, such as RPA and Machine Learning programs
Strong problem-solving skills
