The key responsibilities of the role include:



Responsible for owning or participating in Department projects and coordinating all work flow the Balancing and Control Team within Benefit Payments. Provides input into the performance management process.  

Serves as resource, ensuring reconciliation/tax issues are promptly resolved and daily deadlines are met. Cultivates and develops relationships with Clients/Partners for complex products and services. 

Assists in the coordination of all service related areas: systems, production, and client services.  . In addition, performs various Department tasks and back up support for Team with knowledge generally acquired through specific Business product experience.

Assigns tasks and coordinates work flow to Balancing and Control Team.  

Organizes work, sets short-term priorities, monitors task lists, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.

Develops and leads Department projects and coordinates resources accordingly.

Provides input in the performance management process and staffing decisions.

Acts as a back-up as needed on all jobs/functions within area of responsibility and for manager.

Researches and monitors regulatory and legislative changes impacting retirement payment tax liability remittance to ensure ongoing compliance. As well as communicating to management the impact to department.

Review and Approve daily reconciliation activity for DDA and GL accounts with required documentation process including money movement as needed.

Communicates directly with various regulatory agencies in regard to inquiries and item resolution and follows up with internal communications as needed.

Coordinates and participates in training presentations regarding area’s products and services with clients and partners in-house and/or on-site, and conducts on-job training with staff.

Ensures that all necessary procedure updates and reviews are completed according to audit guidelines.

Delivering organized results that will decrease/mitigate risks with clear and concise paths to resolution.

Reports on all errors, incidents, and sensitive issues to management on a regular basis.

Completes annual review of tax withholding maintenance and ensures timely implementation.

The successful candidate will benefit from having: 


College or University degree and/or relevant client servicing work experience is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

4 or more years of operations experience with an emphasis on tax/regulatory processing. 

Good oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of tax laws and regulations with an emphasis on Federal and State filing is needed. Analytical, procedurally competent and problem solving skills are required.  Attention to detail and collaboration skills are required, with an ability to focus on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures. 

Accounting/Reconciliation background is strongly preferred.  Proficient user of MS Excel is a must including formula creation, pivot tables and Vl-ookup skills.  Technical skills with an understanding of SQL are a plus.  Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.
