Summary:
The Rec and Control department has an opening for a Team Lead, Hedge Fund Administration position. 

The job involves working within a team at Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a Global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. The position requires good experience and background in financial markets and back office functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Management of an R&C team responsible for daily reconciliation of transactions and positions for various OTC related securities.
• Ability to effectively manage a team towards accurate and timely completion of deliverables 
• Analyze and understand all security and cash position differences related to reconciliations.
• Coordinate break resolution process between client, operations teams and OTC SSG teams.
• Manage hand off process between India and Chicago reconciliation teams, and follow up on open issues.
• Work closely with implementation team to ensure seamless handoff and setup of new client accounts.
• Perform daily review of reconciliations and execute controls.
• Project work related to increasing efficiency and improving control environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 7+ years of experience working for a financial services organization, with exposure to reconciliation and/or accounting processes.  
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures, familiar with financial markets and instruments
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines in extremely time sensitive conditions 
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word and experience working in a database.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with equity and fixed income products strongly preferred.
