Title: Team Lead, Sr. Consultant, Product Control, Hedge Fund Services

Summary:

A person in this role has day-to-day management responsibilities for a small team in the Product Control group with Alternative Fund Services (AFS). The Product Control function within AFS is responsible for P&L and valuations of client portfolios, month end pricing substantiation and daily positional risk reporting.  This person is responsible for the assignment of work to the Product Control analysts.  This person is also responsible for performance management reviews and career development processes.

Major Duties: 

1.  Responsible for a small team in the Product Control group. 
2.  Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. 
3.  Manages the daily P&L and valuation process covering various cash securities and derivative products. 
4.  Prepares daily P&L and risk reports, as well as P&L attribution and explanation to clients. 
5.  Prepares and manages monthly (or more frequently as required) price verification process and associated reporting. 
6.  Coordinates monthly close process with other shared services groups. 
7.  Engages with clients and valuation vendors to complete review of new products. 
8.  Prepares presentations and analysis as required on trading strategies, process improvement, valuation analysis. 
9.  Designs and implements process improvements to improve daily P&L and price verification process. 
10.  Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function. 
11.  As a subject matter expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level. 
12.  Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult. 
13.  Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities. 
14.  Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions. 
15.  Provides input and support to budget management process.

Knowledge/Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required 
In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required
Financial products knowledge a plus 
Highly flexible and adaptable to change 
Technical skills is required 
Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.

Experience Required: 

A College degree with concentration in Accounting or Finance 
Minimum 5-10 years relevant proven work experience is preferred. Related Industry qualification a plus (e.g. CFA, CPA, CAIA).
