Description of the group:

 

Architecture and Innovation establishes Northern Trust’s technology direction, introduces new technologies into the organization, and publishes technology standards and implementation patterns as guidance for application teams developing applications so they are in alignment with our overall technology direction.

In addition, A&I provides PCF Dev/Ops support to app developers on the PCF platform. 

 

Team/office environment.

 

The PCF Support Team is comprised of a subset of A&I partners that provide care/feeding/support for the Pivotal Cloud Foundry System, UAT and Prod (NPC/WPC) environments.  Having just made the decision to move forward with PCF in Q3 of 2016, the team is a relatively new one.  Starting in Q4 of 2016, the team planned for and built out all the environments in use today (including CI/CD).  The team has been working in an agile mode with rich backlog of work like:


  • New features for the PCF DevOps tool to continue to put more power in the developer’s hands as well as reducing service request tickets to the PCF Platform Operations teams.
  • New features for CARAMEL – internally built Spring application to improve the automated deployment of services to UAT and Production.
  • Improving the automation for platform upgrades using concourse pipelines 
  • Full support for live/live production environment

Skill/Course Work

  • Java & Spring, Javascript (ReactJS ideally), Test First practices.
  • Desire for majors- Computer Science, engineering, analytics,
  • Strong communication skills, independent thinker, problem solver
