Role Summary

Under general supervision (but working independently most of the time) monitors compliance with various risk programs, specifically the risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) program. Detects and advises management of potential risk issues and recommends procedural changes to mitigate risk.  Researches and develops solutions for issues being addressed by the department.  Interprets and clarifies policies and procedures in order to respond to inquiries and requests for information. 



Major Duties 


  1. Participates in administration of the RCSA program across the organization, including annual planning, scheduling, and effective challenge of self-assessment results provided by stakeholders.
  2. Reviews, disseminates, and interprets laws and regulations and works to proactively establish and document related policies, procedures and standards.
  3. Verifies that risk program activities meet internal and regulatory requirements and monitors outcomes/risk levels for the organization or assigned area.
  4. Able to review data and provide meaningful analysis and feedback in easy to understand terms.
  5. Consults with partners regarding more complex daily decisions that could pose risk and conflict with existing policy.
  6. Communicates and provides risk avoidance advice and program requirements to partners across the global organization, in different settings (e.g., meetings, phone calls, in person)
  7. Identifies situations which pose significant risk and guides management in developing policies and/or procedures that minimize risk.
  8. Interacts with regulators, internal and external auditors on risk program topics.
  9. Serves on internal and external groups to provide and receive advice on industry trends.
  10. May lead projects and/or provide direction and train more junior-level staff. 



Knowledge/Skills


  • Knowledge of risk management and strategic goals for the bank's business. 
  • Analytical and communication skills required to summarize and analyze information and liaise with various stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Organizational skills required to coordinate risk related activities. 
  • Prior experience with RCSA programs a plus. 
  • Strong communication and analytical skills are necessary to consult with partners/clients.

Experience Required

  • 5 or more years of risk management or compliance experience. 
  • Bachelor's Degree

Work Hours

  • 4PM-1AM M-F
