Title:  Trade Capture Specialist

 

The Organization             

 

A Global Fund Administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds.  

 

Summary of the Position’s Responsibilities

 

Summary: This role is responsible for ensuring client trade activity is correctly consumed by the firm’s proprietary technology.  This highly visible, high-impact role requires familiarity with a multitude of Order Management System (OMS) platforms and knowledge of how a wide variety of financial products are represented in trade transmission.  We are currently searching for a candidate to fulfill the following responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities: Lead the efforts to configure and set up trade capture mechanisms for new and existing clients, including FTP and other transmission protocols.  Work closely with the firm’s IT group to develop bespoke functionality as required.  Oversee the efforts to expand and evolve the firm’s stable of OMS interfaces. 

 

 Accountable for:

 

·        Engaging with the Implementation teams and in some cases, the clients directly in the course of onboarding a new client to understand and deliver trade capture mechanisms that are aligned to the client’s OMS and target portfolio

·        Configuration of trade capture mechanisms

·        Capturing requirements for any non-standard interfaces

·        Engaging with IT on all FTP and physical trade transmission setups

·        Developing and executing test plans for all trade capture & processing

·        Creation and maintenance of supporting process documentation

·        Create business requirement documentation/ IT specification documentation for bespoke development efforts on new/proprietary OMS platforms

·        Work globally with shared services teams to get the trade capture process automated and completed on a daily basis

·        Facilitate strong partnerships between shared services and IT teams acting as a key point of contact for assigned initiatives

·        Work with outside vendor teams contributing to assigned initiatives

·        Deliver regular and timely written/ verbal communications to all project stakeholders through status reports, meeting notes, project charts, issue/risk and action item logs. Escalate issues of resource contention or operational risk with proposed processes for mitigation to senior management. Manage expectations around timelines and deliverables

 

 

 


Qualifications

 

Required                                                   

 

·        3-5 years of relevant experience working within an investment bank or financial services firm

·        Broad knowledge of financial instrument representation in trade transmission context

·        Ability to effectively document/communicate trade capture related business and technical requirements to IT personnel

·        Strong PC skills, particularly in Excel

·        Knowledge of FTP protocols

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Familiarity with technical project requirement documentation and planning

·        Adaptive, flexible style - able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

 

      Desired

 

·        Knowledge of MQ and other real-time messaging protocols

·        Experience with middle/back office functions at hedge funds or on sell side within an investment bank or similar

 

Education

 

·        Strong numerate or finance degree
