The key responsibilities of the role include: 
  • The Sr. Associate, FlexShares Channel Marketing is a key role, serving as the channel marketing expert for developing and expanding two channels: e-Distribution & Institutional. 
  • This role will act as an active business partner for these channels and proactively lead the development, direction and execution of the overall marketing strategy to promote sales growth and revenue enhancement of our exchange traded funds.
  • The position will work within the FlexShares marketing team to build content, drive engagement and implement plans to improve awareness of FlexShares ETFs. They will also stay current on market trends, industry standards and competitors in order to develop fresh content and communications strategy in response to the evolving market environment. 
  • Work closely with the Head of FlexShares Marketing to develop marketing strategies to both improve awareness and adoption of our funds within both of these high priority segments. 
  • Oversees planning, development and execution of short and long range goals for the channels.
  • Partner with relevant sales, data enablement, investment and other marketing stakeholders across the firm to establish priorities, align work objectives, execute marketing plans and report on marketing effectiveness.
  • Create and manage digital, email and social media marketing programs using analytics to identify client/prospect preferences and enhance the client journey as well as metrics and measurement.
  • Ensure all channel-related budgets are approved by the FlexShares Head of Marketing and that the allotted budget is then managed effectively.
  • Be responsible for regular product communication updates, help manage fund literature system; ensuring all digital properties and product materials are consistent and up to date.
  • Identify and develop industry vendor partnerships to help in executing marketing plan in support of product positioning, content creation and branding initiatives.
  • Be adept at both strategic and tactical marketing in order to effectively and efficiently develop, implement and administer programs within these channels.
  • Work as an active team member of the FlexShares Marketing team to achieve overall FMAG and FlexShares strategic goals.


The successful candidate will benefit from having: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Completion of, or working toward an MBA, CFA or investment certification is preferred.
  • 5-15 years marketing or distribution experience with emphasis on asset management.
  • Project leadership experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and open to other viewpoints.
  • Ability to synthesize data and qualitative information to arrive at a compelling conclusion/tell a story.
  • Agility and innovation when faced with complexity and/or adversity. Ability to be resourceful, think out of the box and move things forward with a high degree of urgency.
  • Superior interpersonal skills - including the ability to work effectively in various team settings and influence senior partners is critical.
  • High proficiency working in Word, PowerPoint, Excel – Salesforce, HubSpot and Seismic proficiency desired.
