The Portfolio Test Manager (PTM) is responsible for the overall test Planning and execution for a collection/portfolio of projects within a Business Unit. PTM will be responsible for building maintainable solutions for business at lower cost and at accelerated speed through optimization and reusability of test assets for the portfolio.


The PTM reports to the Service Delivery Manager.



Responsibilities include: Area of responsibility Responsibility Portfolio Planning and Execution


• Collaborate with business sponsors to understand the business requirements

Create program/project diagrams and/or workflows to be used for test planning, business communication, operational readiness and ongoing artifact documentation as appropriate

• Identify and manage portfolio level testing risks, actions, issues, dependencies (RAID) and timelines. Work with test managers and other program/project representatives to build mitigation plans.

• Partner with release management function (where exists) to ensure testing is consulted on scope, timelines and production readiness.

• Develop and publish a comprehensive Portfolio Test Approach

• Ensure a comprehensive approach to test planning including, but not limited to:


o impact analysis and estimation

o environment (including data) demand and changes

o alignment to enterprise goals

o testing strategy which includes all phases/types of testing (Non-functional, Functional, Scrum, Integration, User/Business Acceptance, Model Office Testing, Operational Readiness, 3rd party/external entities, post production, etc.)

o Budget forecasting, status reporting, signoffs/approvals


• Develop communication protocol including:

o stakeholder management plan

o meeting and reporting cadence

o interaction model alignment


• Ensure collaborative teamwork from all teams (testing, development, and business) across multiple programs/projects, scrums/applications

• Report test progress, highlight risks, issues to all concerned stakeholders

• Create aggregated test results and utilize enterprise standard metrics to assess software quality, tester effectiveness and production readiness SQM Enablement

• Drive the implementation of automation frameworks in alignment with enterprise standards across application teams and track automation progress to be communicated to program/project management

• Utilize all the SQM Shared Services appropriately to deliver projects

• Drive organizational Change Management related to move to Agile/TDD

• Collaborate with APV team with necessary test scenarios, automated scripts for prod validation (coverage and accuracy)

• Collaborate with the concerned stakeholders to showcase SQM values Tools and Technology

• Bring in testing technical leadership and work with Business and Development partners to drive automation

• Identify and on-board right Tools required to deliver projects successfully

• Implement new technology approaches like CI-CT, BDD etc. to match the evolving needs of projects and delivery models Performance Assurance, Process and standards

• Comply with and contribute to the enterprise level SQM standards

• Track and project SQM baselined Metrics, publish QA status periodically using Metrics and analytics to provide transparency to SDM

• Define clear Roles and responsibility cadence for the Test team, escalation management process and acceptance criteria

Experience:


• General 12 - 15 years of experience in IT including,

o Minimum 8 years in Test Management role for large initiatives

o Minimum 5 years Project/Program Management experience

o Minimum 5 years financial domain experience

o Minimum 5 years working within Agile style teams


• Release Management experience is a plus

• PMP/SAFe certification is a plus


Required Skills:

• Aptitude for understanding large, complex, multi-tiered enterprise architectures

• Strong expertise in the domain area of the Business Unit

• Ability to drive execution, manage performance and articulate value via metrics

• Ability to facilitate Test Delivery Workshops (TDWs) along with Test Architects

• Ability to successfully collaborate with virtual teams across multiple time zones/locations 

  • Ability to properly prioritize tasks while under pressure in a continually changing environment

• Ability to provide leadership and direction to various types of team members

• Ability to communicate effectively with senior managers and leaders

• Proven experience with SDLC and Agile practices

 Knowledge of performance testing and the concepts of high availability/low latency systems

• Ability to work in a process oriented environment

• Ability to maintain a positive outlook and remain adaptable
