The Senior Marketing Analyst is responsible for analyzing all marketing activities, developing a deep understanding of our target consumer and leveraging those insights to influence our overall marketing strategy. This role requires an analytic thinker who is comfortable pulling data from disparate data sources to uncover opportunities that improve the performance of our marketing efforts. 

Major Duties: 

• Contribute to integrated marketing strategy by analyzing and reporting on performance of digital marketing channels including website, blog, email / lead nurturing, social media, organic search, and paid search 

 • Develop strong hypotheses, independently solve problems, and uncover business insights and opportunities across marketing channels to drive growth 

• Analyze the performance and profitability of marketing efforts at the channel, tactic and segment level to optimize spend and performance 

• Operate seamlessly between being a business-savvy internal consultant and a highly technical analyst, with the ability to clearly communicate insights to senior leadership 

• Frames solutions to the business that bring new insightful opportunities to the table, using various analytical modeling and visualization techniques  

• Ensure data issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner 

• Analyze and understand Northern Trust’s core business processes and data flows to design and develop enduring solutions that provide analytical insights (both rearview, and predictive)  

• Contribute to the development and delivery of solutions that: Leverage and extend existing Business Intelligence and analytics infrastructure; Take metric governance and enterprise solutions into consideration; are scalable, repeatable and effective; Follow agreed upon governance and technology policies including use of Agile process

• Provide support in managing and interpreting data from a response attribution model 

Knowledge/Skills: 

• Ability to analyze large amounts of data for analytical projects and translate that data into sound insights

• Experience establishing measurement strategy and gaining stakeholder alignment 

• Familiarity with relational database concepts and structures, data integration techniques, ETL processes and business analytics best practices  

• Expertise with visualization tools (Microsoft BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio), web analytic tools (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 360), and CRM solutions (Salesforce)

• Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity 

• Exercise independent judgement in identifying and resolving problems within established guidelines 

• Experience establishing measurement strategy and gaining stakeholder alignment

Experience Required

• BS Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Applied Analytics or a quantitative professional designation

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with databases, reporting on data and working in an analytical capacity
