Senior Buyer- Procurement Compliance
 
Reporting to: Senior Vice President, Head of Regional Procurement

Position Description:
Reporting to Regional Head of Procurement, we are currently seeking a highly creative, results-driven and forward-thinking procurement manager at Bangalore. As a procurement manager, you will assume responsibility for managing Buyers Compliance team at Bangalore. You will lead a team of procurement professionals who provide systematic management of contract creation, execution, and analysis for maximizing operational and financial performance while minimizing risk of our global contracts.  You will be charged with empowering your team to take full ownership of their space and motivating them to deliver results that have a direct impact on Northern’s bottom line and future success. You will conduct performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions, part of your managerial role. You will be responsible for establishing strong procurement strategies, bring consistence and quality, you will be responsible for holding them accountable as they drive these initiatives while navigating them through key strategy shifts, as necessary. The team serves the best interest of Northern by engaging in ethical, transparent and professional transactions and takes ownership of Buyer procurement functions to increase high quality competition, promote supplier diversity, and elevate supplier performance.

Major Duties

1. Responsible for managing end to end Procurement process, includes managing all inquiries from vendors/partners, working closely with Category Mangers in driving Sourcing strategies, drive and maintains vendor catalog related to orders; updates internal tracking mechanisms and all metrics; resolves and escalates issues as needed. Takes minimum direction from Category Managers.
2. Responsible for comprehensive Procurement compliance management which includes systematic management of contract creation, execution, and analysis for maximizing operational and financial performance while minimizing risk of our global contracts.
3. Job scope includes in depth analysis: A. Financial: Financial alignment and control, Understanding of contracted obligations, Achieve expectations for service delivery, Expected business benefits and value for money are being achieved, Improve forecasting and planning effectiveness and Improve our negotiation preparedness for financial discussions. B. Relationship : Improved relationship ownership – ensure monitoring throughout year based on contract criteria, Increased vendor responsiveness and cooperation, Reduce disputes and misalignment with vendors and Objective debate over changes and issues.
4. Responsible in provide effective and efficient support of the procurement processes
5. Ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to Procurement
6. Analysis of RFxs, Contracts, support strategic negotiations with suppliers, contract negotiations, recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
7. Works closely with Supports Category, makes recommendations to strategic sourcing initiatives, influencing resource dedication and savings commitments
8. Identifies, recommends and implements guidelines, policies and controls to manage spend effectively
9. Monitors supplier performance executes appropriate remedies for non-compliance. Negotiates modifications and new service levels as business conditions change
10. Drive special projects in support of broader Procurement goals.  Sets and maintains project schedules, monitors project(s) and adjusts schedules or tasks as needed
11. Communicates directly with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, relative to various policy, financial, risk and strategic matters
12. Resolves complex transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes
13. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and guide other more junior level employees
14. Works on large and complex projects and develops project leadership skills
15. Follows effectively Procurement Buyer procedures and processes to improve the efficiency of the group and actively guide and support team
16. Interacts on a regular basis with upper management, external customers as well as internal partners to integrate solutions that meet the company’s goals both financially and operationally
17. Acts as key contact for various partners, including internal auditors, and other business units
18. As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting to partners Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult

Experience & Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of Supply chain management, contracting and procurement knowledge is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. MS Office skills, ERP systems/Peoplesoft) is required.  Ability to create RFxs, related qualitative and pricing analysis, contractual documentation, service levels and performance scorecards is required. Strong sourcing, project management, facilitation, negotiation and change management skills are require.  Strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written) are required with an ability to lead cross functional teams. Highly flexible and adaptable to change.

Experience: 10+ years of experience

Qualification:  Graduate in Engineering, Science or Commerce, Business domain from a reputed University.  MBA or CPM certified would be an added advantage.
Must have 24 months experience in the current role.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
• MS Tools: Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio & SharePoint
• Exposure to ERP Systems, Oracle PeopleSoft  or SAP
• E-tools: Contract management tools, eAuction
