The Role 


The Senior Business Solution Manager (SBSM) is a newly created role within the business unit of Asia Pacific Investment Manager Liaison Group (IMLG). The SBSM is a market advocate, who analyses requests from investment managers and clients on new markets and products. The SBSM is responsible for equipping the IMLG team with detailed market and product assessment, in order for the servicing team to provide to and meet the needs of investment managers and clients. In addition, this role may have accountability for other Business Solution managers within the IMLG teams.


Responsibilities

  • Receives requests from investment managers and clients on markets and products that they are keen on, through IMLG and/or relationship managers (RM). The SBSM will analyse and provide the market and product information that is of value to the investment managers and clients.
  • The SBSM is the central owner of the service – Working with NT teams such as Network, Product, infrastructure teams, Trade & Settlement team on cut-off times, local agent network, market requirements, systems etc, to develop a viable product for NT’s clientele. 
  • Conduct presentations to investment managers and clients that would allow them to have a better understanding of the markets or products, and understanding of NT’s offering. 
  • Focus for APAC is on the development of China (but not limited to); including CIBM, Stock Connect, Bond Connect, QFII, RQFII, London Stock Connect, Super SPSA, etc. The role would also track global trends.
  • Develop an in-depth relationship for network to elevate overall market information provided to clients
  • Responsible for tracking the overall product and market trends, in Asia and globally, by market, by NT; and be able to produce regular updates into presentation material.  
  • Conduct training for IMLG to equip them with the knowledge to be able to intellectually engage with the investment managers and clients
  • Make decisions objectively and in the best interest of NT and investment managers / clients. 
  • Work closely with Client Service Managers and RMs to ensure investment managers / clients requests are understood and met. 
  • Responsible for the collation of market trends relating to IMLG presentation.
  • Overall lead the Business Solution management discipline in IMLG Asia.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Conversant in Global Custody Products & market trends
  • Previous consulting experience within NT or external
  • Market advocate that is passionate about developing strong market and product knowledge within NT that allows NT to move at least on par (or ahead) with peers
  • Inquisitive and resourceful in gathering information, with clear objectives and keep to deadlines
  • Good written and oral communication skills. Includes presentation experience.
  • Strong risk awareness.
  • Dedicated, responsible, trustworthy.
  • Takes initiative and is enthusiastic to learn.

Qualifications
  • Minimum tertiary level education (university graduate in any discipline)
  • Experience in custody products and markets
  • Previous consulting experience highly regarded.
