The Wealth Management Product organization supports the Northern Trust Wealth Management business unit by driving the vision, strategy and delivery of the overall client and Northern trust employee (referred to as “partners”) experience. Our goal is to create, validate and iteratively deliver a contemporary, integrated experience that enables relationship management teams (and their supporting ecosystem of regional and operational support teams) to provide high touch, personalized interactions with prospects, clients and third party advisors through an efficient and scalable set of tools and operational processes. We are looking for an experienced and passionate person to join the team to define and deliver the Asset Servicing product used in Wealth Management. In this Product Management role, you will identify, develop and implement Asset Servicing initiatives ensuring products and services technology solutions are aligned with business objectives. You will collaborate with teams across Wealth Management, risk and operations to deliver an innovative client asset servicing experience.


Major Duties

  • Determines the broader Wealth Management (excluding Global Family Offices) Asset Servicing strategy to meet client, business and market needs. Define, implement and evaluate a set of experience metrics to ensure business and experience success.
  • Drives projects across the organization for trust, custody and investment management accounts in Wealth Management in the areas of Accounting, Valuation Reporting, Corporate Actions, Asset Coding, Statement Generation, etc.
  • Provide product leadership through development, implementation and rollout.
  • Works closely with Wealth Management Practices, Marketing, Sales, Risk, Front Office and other Product teams to deliver Asset Servicing changes across multiple client and partner tools. Partners with the Global Family Offices, Wealth Management Investment Practice and Corporate & Institutional Services teams to provide a consistent asset servicing experience across Northern Trust.
  • Engages with Mid to Back Office Operations and Technology to assess the changes needed on existing systems and operations or implementation of new options to drive the Asset Servicing experience, maximizing scalability and reuse for other product or client needs.
  • Acts as Wealth Management point of contact for Asset Servicing program as well as Operations support. Responsible for disseminating project changes and operational issues to Wealth Management constituents. 
  • Stays informed of new and existing wealth management products and services, as well as regulatory, legislative, marketing, competitive and market trends

The successful candidate will have:


Knowledge/ Skills:

Strong understanding of business functions, products and processes, custody, trust and investment management services and Financial Services knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills

Executive communication abilities

Strong project management and negotiation skills required. Knowledge in Product Strategy approaches, including business value definition + metrics, journey mapping and qualitative + quantitative research methods

Familiarity with Human centered design approached and agile development methodologies and product roadmap planning techniques

Highly flexible and adaptable to change


Experience Required:

Seasoned expert with extensive product, operational and/or business knowledge and functional expertise within financial services that has been developed over at least 7 years and/or equivalent experience
