IRAS Global Client Solutions Team is a business function set up to support the reporting needs of global partners and clients across the Investment Risk & Analytical Services (IRAS) department. The Product Consultant resides on the client reporting team and is responsible for working with IRAS client servicing and product development to support analysts’ delivery of reporting to clients and ensuring all static client reporting needs are fulfilled. The position entails the initial creation of client ready reporting either through custom report creation or additional requirements added to various proprietary reporting applications.


 


Reporting primarily focuses on investment return analysis, strategic & tactical asset allocation, investment risk analysis, performance attribution, compliance monitoring, and business intelligence. Additionally, the Product Consultant is responsible for the development and maintenance of related system manuals, global training, and liaising with product developers & IT. IRAS Risk clients demand accuracy and timeliness in their reporting. Partner is expected to meet this demand while serving as the project lead for BAU Risk report production. This requires liaising with BarraOne, Risk Consultant team, IRAS Management, & product consultants.


Principal Responsibilities:


 


The principle responsibilities of the IRAS Product Consultant will include, but may not be limited to, the following;


·        Create and automate end client reports in excel and other reporting applications


·        Generate custom reports in Excel and Business Objects for client delivery


·        Work with risk consultants & IT to standardize monthly and quarterly data verification and extraction process from BarraOne


·        Leverage weekly meetings to maximize distribution of BAU reporting and brief product consultants on current projects, upcoming activities, etc. 


·        Create, organize, & maintain  client reporting delivery metrics for trend analysis on any report reissues, turnaround times, and efficiencies gained through off season enhancements


·        Serve as a subject matter expert on new client reporting requests including performing due diligence, and gap analysis for needed development


·        Work closely with IRAS product developers and IT to ensure business side is being represented and new enhancements are fulfilling direct industry and/or client needs


·        Participate and serve as final sign-off for any functional and UAT testing activities related to IRAS’s proprietary reporting applications


·        Actively participate in application working groups, test product enhancements, and review detailed business requirements for application improvements


·        Develop & Maintain training documentation and presentations for IRAS global partner consumption


Knowledge & Skills



The candidate should possess the following skills:


·        Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge is a must, including knowledge of advanced formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting. PowerPivot & Power Query knowledge is a plus


·        Knowledge/experience with Business Objects, BarraOne, & StatPro is a plus


·        In-depth knowledge of capital markets. Understanding of financial concepts, rate of return calculations, and awareness of investment types across multiple asset classes


·        Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, adaptable to change, and willing to overcome obstacles to accomplish goal.


·        Strong organizational, written, and verbal client servicing skills required. Must have excellent time management and multi-tasking skills


·        Independent self-starter with an excellence in execution while ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment; possess excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with IRAS product and business partners with minimal direction from management


·        Must be a critical thinker with excellent communication skills for presenting, listening, and writing functions. Strong presentation skills with ability to explain complex ideas at a high level


·        Desire to constantly increase technical/ industry knowledge and share findings with both business and product alike


·        Understanding of how a client’s data flows through Northern Trust systems is preferred


·        Ability to understand & perform root cause analysis


Qualification & Experience:


 


·   Undergraduate with at least 3 years of experience in the financial services industry


·   Strong Excel Skillset / Subject matter expert


·   Good working knowledge of IRAS tools & applications across all product
