Performance Reporting Product Manager – Wealth Management 

The Performance Reporting Product Manager leads a highly visible function within the Wealth Management National Investment Practice by serving as the primary owner of investment performance reporting capabilities provided to HNW clients of Wealth Management, which manages ~$300 billion in client assets. Responsibilities include owning the Wealth Management performance reporting vision and strategy, overseeing performance data governance, serving as the National Practice liaison to key vendors (internal & external), identifying capability gaps and defining requirements for enhancements, and problem solving performance reporting issues surfaced the by the field of portfolio advisors. 

The Product Manager will serve as the primary interface with the Investment Risk and Analytical Services (IRAS) team in the Corporate & Institutional Service business unit, which currently provides the calculation engine and front end system for the Performance Reporting platform. In addition, this role will regularly engage with the Wealth Management Asset Servicing lead to ensure timely and accurate portfolio accounting data is available for performance reporting calculations. 

Key Tasks 
Performance Reporting Strategy 
- Define and lead the implementation of ‘ideal state’ platform with input from the National Practice and Wealth Management Leadership 
- Advocate for Wealth Management interests in ongoing development of current platform 
- Understand and respond to industry trends related to performance reporting 

Performance Reporting Oversight 
- Establish and oversee data governance standards for investment performance reporting, including but not limited to: 
     o Alignment of portfolio accounting and the calculation engine 
     o No Investment Responsibility (NIR) securities 
     o Benchmark oversight 
     o Recommended actions if performance service level agreements are not met 
- Lead business case development for capital investments needed to support Wealth Management functionality; monitor implementation program and testing of capital projects 
- Own day-to-day relationship with performance reporting provider and oversee performance reporting SLAs 
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve Wealth Management deliverables, including root cause analysis for recurring performance reporting issues, performance reporting analyst staffing levels and audit optimization of the calculation engine 

Investment Advisor Support 
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Wealth Management performance reporting functionality 
- Facilitate training on new and existing performance reporting functionality in conjunction with the Investment Risk and Analytical Services (IRAS) team; support the development of user manuals/guides for Wealth Management investment advisors 
- Solicit and prioritize investment advisor feedback related to performance reporting issues and/or enhancements 
- Liaise between front-office partners and internal providers where needed 

Performance Reporting Data Governance 
- Align with Wealth Management CIO & Product Team on security classification for reporting 
- Confirm approved asset class schema(s) 
- Partner with internal stakeholders to implement Wealth Management governance standards 

Liaise with WM Asset Servicing 
- Develop a working knowledge of the portfolio accounting platform and how this data impacts Wealth Management investment performance reporting 
- Partner with Wealth Management Asset Servicing team to ensure monthly data SLAs are met 
- Develop procedures for missed SLAs 
- Liaise between internal platform provider and Wealth Management Asset Servicing to remediate portfolio accounting data issues
Knowledge and Skills 
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required 
- Leadership and organizational skills to manage across disciplines required 
- Strong investment operations and asset management or wealth management knowledge 
- Role serves as the interface between front office needs and middle/back office teams, so experience/understanding of wealth management ops across front/middle/back office important 
- Well organized, detail oriented and disciplined in approach 
- Experience of business strategy development to provide long term planning preferred 
- Knowledge of capital markets: equity, fixed income, alternative investments, and risk management principles 
- High proficiency in Microsoft suite 

Qualifications 
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in investments (e.g., portfolio management, front office operations, program management, performance reporting) important 
- Investment qualifications / certifications (e.g., CFA) a plus 
- Proven leadership and organizational skills to manage across disciplines required 
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required 
- Project Management experience preferred 
- Advanced Degree a plus
