Job Title:  Omnium Platform Strategy & Analysis Consultant, HFS 

Job Description: 

The Omnium Platform Strategy & Analysis Consultant will work directly with Omnium Technology, Omnium Operational Shared Services, and other Omnium stakeholders to create solutions to complex problems, and support internal applications used to track and report on platform technology enhancements. 

This unique position will work on strategic initiatives between the business and IT, to institutionalize and stand up new processes, as it relates to Omnium Technology. This position will monitor, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of Omnium Software Development Lifecycle processes, procedures and controls in achieving agreed business objectives. 

He/she will participate in ongoing internal operational data quality control and validation, ensuring data integrity to help drive better business outcomes, including clear prioritization, timely decision-making, and efficient and productive development.

Summary: 

Northern Trust Corporation announced in January 2018 that it had reached an agreement with Citadel to bring Omnium® technology development in-house – including a team of key development professionals as well as software development rights for its Omnium® technology platform. Northern Trust acquired Citadel’s hedge fund administration business (Omnium®) in 2011 and licensed their middle and back office investment technology. That business, now known as Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, has grown from $70 billion in assets under administration to more than $350 billion in assets under administration, across more than 130 clients. Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services has approximately 1,200 employees worldwide.

Responsibilities:
Strategize with key stakeholders to create solutions to complex problems regarding Omnium Technology 
Build, scope and develop better management information tools 
Maintain subject matter expertise on internal processes and the suite of development tracking and reporting tools; delivering educational and training across all levels of need and understanding
Manage configurations, functionality, templates and workflows for internal applications and act as the key technical liaison between computer systems and  business users
Leverage technical skills and knowledge to troubleshoot issues and identify or define business solutions
Monitor the active development pipeline, and assist in reviewing and processing new requests
Perform a wide range of tasks related to development data management; including data scrubbing, data transformation, and data profiling to increase data quality
Build, manage, and maintain an operational data dictionary, which includes understanding data lineage and working with business owners to develop data validation logic 
Support the publication of weekly, monthly and quarterly internal reporting, including gathering datasets, interpreting results, and designing visuals to assess the organizational health at a glance and inform data-driven decisions
Assist with the definition and documentation of both new and existing processes
Knowledge/Skills: 
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills are required 
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Ability to design and create documents for project management, strategic analysis, and communication of business updates is strongly preferred
Ability to work with a significant degree of autonomy; make decisions and advance an agenda 
Execution-oriented and results-driven 
Ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and interests is a plus

Experience:
Bachelor's degree 
Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Excel.  Experience with the Atlassian Suite of products (Confluence & Jira) is a big plus. 
Experience in traditional and agile project management methodologies is preferred
