Title: Omnium Platform Operations & Strategy, Sr. Consultant, HFS
Job Description:
This Omnium Platform Operations & Strategy Senior Consultant will work directly and sit between Omnium IT, Omnium Business Services, and the Alternative Fund Services to facilitate the execution of development for the Omnium Platform. This exciting new role within the Omnium Platform Operations team, will function as a “workstream owner.”
These “workstream owners” will be accountable for strategizing and executing how to work with our in-house developers, to make their processes more efficient and streamlined. This person will work with in-house developers, and represent business priorities, through managing the backlog of development items, planning and scheduling development releases, coordinating testing, and providing transparency into progress.
Summary:
Northern Trust Corporation announced in January 2018 that it had reached an agreement with Citadel to bring Omnium® technology development in-house – including a team of key development professionals as well as software development rights for its Omnium® technology platform. Northern Trust acquired Citadel’s hedge fund administration business (Omnium®) in 2011 and licensed their middle and back office investment technology. That business, now known as Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, has grown from $70 billion in assets under administration to more than $350 billion in assets under administration, across more than 130 clients. Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services has approximately 1,200 employees worldwide.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding and representing Alternative Fund & Omnium Business Services’ priorities
- Function as a “workstream owner” responsible for the following:
o
Work directly with in-house developers to streamline processes
o Manage backlog of development items
o Plan and schedule development releases
o Coordinate testing
o Provide progress transparency to key stakeholders
o Production and Distribution of Development Roadmaps
- Liaise with the Business Owner and / or the Proxy Business Owner to:
o Inform prioritization of stories / bugs
o Assess new and/or re-prioritized dev requests and articulate the impact to plan
o Coordinate testing with business owners in OMDEV and INT; monitor testing progress and confirm readiness for next step in release
o Triage escalations
- Work with IT development leads to:
o Bundle Stories/Bugs into releases (i.e., fix versions)
o Develop overall timeline for each dev and release cycle (i.e., estimate with Dev Lead and Business Owner time required for DEV, INT, etc.)
o Prioritize Stories/ Bugs
o Identify and communicate capacity issues
o Assess new and/or re-prioritized development requests and articulate the impact to plan
o Triage escalations
- Manage Jira Board
- Complete the Sponsor Impact Assessment when new epics are requested
- Submit Release Request Forms to initiate release process
- Participate / lead daily stand-ups and planning meetings
Knowledge / Skills Required:
- Strong organization and facilitation skills are required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Ability and experience navigating and working across multiple stakeholders
- Omnium experience a plus
- Tech and/or Agile experience a plus, but not required
- Execution-oriented and results-driven
