What you will do

 

The Manager, Country Operations is responsible for directing the Enterprise Operations Business Unit within Australia and is responsible for managing multiple functions and providing leadership and guidance to subordinate managers. 

 

This role is accountable for the performance management process and career development programs for the Business Unit/functions in Australia.  You will be making staffing decisions, and ensuring resources are available to accomplish priorities. You will be a key decision-maker for the salary review process, provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.

 

What you will do

 

  • Responsible for managing and developing the Enterprise Operation’s activities within a country and cultivating relationships with global practice executives, functional heads, clients and regulators
  • Makes staffing decisions, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. Builds diverse teams through recruiting, hiring and succession planning
  • Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the division/unit. Supports individual career aspirations with lateral movement to new roles or growth and tenure in current roles
  • Oversees plans and directs the activities for the Enterprise Operations Unit, ensuring that the business objectives are being met within a country. Assure appropriate senior management oversight and governance of BAU activities
  • Directs the reviews of operations and administrations within a country, and recommends improvements to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Participates in developing business unit, local and regional strategic initiatives and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met
  • Demonstrates an understanding of regulations as well as the business impact in each jurisdiction and monitors effective implementation
  • Assumes accountability for financial and staffing resources, including developing and managing capital and expense budgets, liaising cross-function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Assumes full accountability for the performance and execution of processes in the location

Your Knowledge/Skills

 

  • Knowledge of operations and corporate business strategies are required to drive measurable business outcomes that enable achievement of financial goals
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct activities for multiple units.
  • Knowledge of country, federal, state, and/or local laws that affect the financial industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth functional / industry knowledge
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience in the financial services industry with managerial responsibilities
