Supports the development, implementation, and communication of an overall Wealth Management technology strategy to meet both the unit's and the corporation's strategic plans.  Directs projects and consults with partners to determine the most effective systems to solve business problems.  Includes planning, evaluating, recommending and designing the solutions to ensure that technology projects are cost effective, compliant with enterprise policies, and corporate technology standards and do not diverge from business and technology strategies.  Assists with long range planning and project administration across the Wealth Management Technology portfolio and collaborates across technology functions to leverage shared solutions and enterprise capabilities.

  • Requires high level awareness and understanding of technology capabilities, both current and emerging

  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical complex topics in meaningful and relevant business terms.

  • Knowledge of strategy development and Industry Knowledge is required

  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change

  • Proven analytical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

     

Major Duties

  1. Liaise with partners to understand the needs of the business

  2. Liaise with other professionals to design solution architecture for internal partners and external clients

  3. Ensure compliance to solution architectural design in the implementation of projects

  4. Provide architectural guidance to the project team

  5. Support build versus buy decisions; facilitate software tool and vendor evaluations

  6. Render consulting and technical support services on project implementation to the project team

  7. Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals

  8. Negotiates priorities with the Functional Head(s) and the Execution team to adequately resource the function change program

  9. Ensure that solution milestones are accomplished at the right time

  10. Ensure that solution architecture (software and programs) designed are in sync with business needs

  11. Review proposals from vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are delivered at the least possible cost

  12. Identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution architecture

  13. Responsible (along with the Functional Execution Managers) for the execution of all change projects within the supported business function

  14. Responsible for the build-out of cross functional awareness and expertise

  15. Responsible for the capture, reporting, tracking and execution of industry change initiatives for the business lines

  16. Supports client engagements, e.g. client workshops, RFP coordination and client material

  17. Develops, implements, and communicates an overall technology roadmap to support the Wealth Management strategic plan

  18. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity

  19. Seasoned leader with extensive business experience, and broad functional expertise, with focus on proactive strategic leadership

Experience:

  • Seasoned experience in the technology and financial services industry, a Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required

  • Understanding of key capabilities essential to Wealth Management

  • Knowledge of operating systems, system security, and database management

  • Practical experience with Cloud/SaaS/PaaS solutions

  • Knowledge of Security patterns industry best practices (SSO, 2-Way SSL, Encryption, Federated Identity, etc.)

  • Understanding of the business application of Data Analytics,  Data Governance, and Operational Business Processes for data lifecycles

  • Salesforce Financial Services Cloud experience preferred

  • Understanding of trust accounting and servicing models preferred

  • Preferred – experience with Fin Services Compliance and Risk controls and solutions
