Job Summary:

Responsible for new business development for Northern Trust Asset Management’s asset management within the institutional health care marketplace. The selected candidate will be an exceptional communicator and maintain technical expertise and deep knowledge of the institutional asset management marketplace and the health care industry.

Major Duties:

•Serve as the primary representative of NTAM’s asset management business to the health care industry.

• Work closely with externally facing partners on delivering key research and thought leadership to asset owners and consultants. 

• Collaborate with consultant relations and relationship management professionals to develop calling plans to attract health care asset management prospects and clients.

•Collaborate with Asset Management Marketing to develop necessary product positioning, thought leadership, and other collateral for positioning in the marketplace.

• Serve as subject matter expert both within the Institutional Client Group and in the marketplace. 

•Build strong external partnerships with clients, prospects and consultants..

Consult with sophisticated asset owners about trends in the industry

•Maintain thorough knowledge of investment products and services by initiating frequent contact with other financial institutions, partners and keeping abreast of laws and regulations affecting the industry. Maintain a thorough knowledge of competitors, and their product offerings

Qualifications:
•Minimum of 10 years or more of institutional asset management sales experience, preference toward health care specific knowledge 
•Exceptional collaborator and team minded professional
•Proven ability to effectively lead and/or navigate through complexity and drive innovation
•Subject matter expertise in defined benefit, money purchase, profit sharing, 401(k), 403(b), Endowment & Foundation and related investment pools
•Knowledge of all areas within the global investment management industry, including fixed income, quantitative active and passive equities, cash securities and alternatives is essential 
•Strong presentation and communication skills.  Able to translate complex and/or technical concepts in an understandable manner to influence others at all levels of various organizations. 
•Knowledge of securities and industry products and services in order to compete with other financial institutions
•Highly organized/structured and able to effectively prioritize multiple demands.
•Excellent logical and problem-solving skills.  Able to easily understand new systems, concepts, data flows, and develop creative solutions where necessary.
