The Unitized Valuation and Reporting Services (UVRS) department is a growth department within the Northern Trust Global Fund Services Practice which values over a trillion dollars of assets daily. The UVRS group provides daily NAVs and/or Market Value of Client’s Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, and other large Institutional clients accounting portfolios. In addition, UVRS provides annual reporting statements to clients and their auditors.
Summary of Role:
The Institutional Fund Accounting Senior Analyst works on complex daily valued accounts to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the Client’s Daily NAVs and Annual reporting. The Senior Analyst is the next level in career pathing from the Analyst level position. This position provides further career opportunities within the practice and other areas within Northern Trust.
The key responsibilities of the position will include:
· Determines Net Asset Value (NAV) for Defined Contribution (401K) and/or Defined Benefit (Pension) plans on a daily basis.
· Reviews and manages the daily valuation NAV production cycle for assigned clients and assist junior team members
· Ensure monthly / annual reporting deliverables including 5500’s supplemental reports are delivered timely
· Provides valuations of client’s portfolio including holdings of Mutual Funds and Separately Managed fixed, equity or derivative assets.
· Demonstrate through examples / evidence of strong operations on researching and resolving exceptions according to procedures within scheduled timeframes.
· Able to work in a team environment providing accurate client’s NAV accuracy. Completes performance and benchmarking tasks.
Reviews reconciliation reports for income, cash, stock breaks and helps to resolve them daily.
Qualifications:
- Experience within Institutional Fund Accounting, 401K Valuations, ann/or Mutual Fund Valuation
- Knowledge of FIS Global Invest One Accounting Application, Bloomberg, and Microsoft 365 applications
- A College or University degree and / or relevant work experience is required
- Flexible, team player, and ability to work under pressure in a daily environment
- Security Valuation and Industry knowledge a plus
