Candidate will analyze corporate fixed income securities and communicate Buy/Sell/Hold investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers. In addition the analyst will actively monitor existing portfolio assets as well as review new opportunities, maintain industry/sector assessments, and complete appropriate written credit reports needed to meet regulatory/compliance/risk management requirements.

The key responsibilities of the role include: 
  • Perform due diligence and analysis of corporate bonds in the Financial Services or Asset-Backed sectors
  • Analyze corporate fixed income investment opportunities and communicates Buy/Sell/Hold investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers.
  • Recommend provisional Short Duration investment limits, pending formal credit committee approval.
  • Actively monitors existing portfolio assets
  • Build and maintain company financial models on current and potential investments
  • Maintain information systems that provide traders and portfolio managers timely information regarding debt issuers approved for investment purposes.
  • Ensures that assigned issuers and industry sectors are reviewed, analyzed, and documented on a timely basis, so that all internal and external regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
  • Track relative value opportunities of existing and new debt securities and make recommendations on relative attractiveness based on assessment of market pricing and company and industry overall assessment
  • Review company filings, transcripts, quarterly results and industry trade publications
  • Conduct extensive company and industry due diligence, interact with management teams, industry sources and sell-side analysts, and attend conferences and company site visits
  • Effectively converse with management of potential and existing investments in assessment process
  • Understand macroeconomic theory and assess impact of economic data on industry dynamics and company financial performance
  • Able to do deep dive analysis on company and credit opportunities
  • Manage ad hoc assignments

The successful candidate will benefit from having:
  • Will have 1-3 years of experience at a top-tier financial services firm with knowledge of Investment Grade and/or High Yield Fixed Income.
  • Experience with the Financials or Asset-Backed sector 
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance and financial modeling skills
  • Highly motivated team player, with strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MBA and/or CFA is ideal
