As an Executive Dining server, you are responsible for preparing, setting,  delivering and clearing food and beverage service from the private dining rooms, board rooms and conference meeting rooms to Northern Trust partners and their guest in an attentive and efficient manner and ensuring to provide excellent quality service.
 
1. Sets up private dining rooms, board rooms and meeting room with the appropriate china, glassware, silverware, menus, etc. for client meetings and after hour functions. 

2. Perform opening and closing procedures established for the department.

3. Accurately pre-checks and pick-up all food and beverage order from the B-6 Executive Dining Room (EDR) kitchen. 

4. Serve guest their food and beverage in prompt and courteous manner.

5. Maintain accurate accounting for “on consumption items” and submit for timely records to complete the accounting process.

6. Check-in with Northern partner and host client to ensure satisfaction with service.


7. Responsible for cleaning and removal of food and beverage items, serving equipment from each of the board rooms and meeting room facilities.

8. Monitor guest comments and pass on to Global Conference Center (GCC) event planner and EDR management, and be pro-active in solving problems whenever possible. 

9. Reports guest complains and partner feedbacks immediately to GCC Event Manager and ensures follow up is performed with the event host.

10. Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the food and beverage menu, pricing, their specifications and the ability to recommend Food and Beverage combinations.

11. Performs cleaning duties after meals have been served, including cleaning dining rooms or cafeteria areas, bussing dishes, removing table linens, wiping counters or display areas, etc.

12. Maintains cleanliness of the conference rooms, function rooms, pantry area chinaware’s, glassware, reach-in coolers and serving equipment throughout the day.

13. Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to EDR office.

14. Ensure that the workplace and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

15. Ensure communication between Kitchen, Workplace service and EDR office. 

16. Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and waste successfully.

17. Perform any other assigned reasonable duties and responsibilities such as setting up service bar, reception area assisting chef with food preparation or as requested by GCC Event manager and EDR manager.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and  experience  to graduation from high school or any other combination of education training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and ability. 

Minimum one year prior Fine Dining Server or hospitality experience is required. 

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Good oral and written communication skills, must be fluent and literate in English.

Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations.

Must be able to lift trays of food above shoulder level for a distance of up to 20 yards.

Teamwork – ability to work collaboratively within the Executive Dining service areas for effective day to day operations.

Flexibility to work for longer hours as per business demand.

Maintain health department standards and regulations.  Food handler and Basset training preferred.
