DESIGN STUDIO DIRECTOR


The Design Studio Director will drive creative strategy across the Design and Multi Media teams to develop and produce industry-leading creative solutions that support Northern Trust’s brands and business. This role will be responsible for directing graphic design, video, infographic, motion graphic, animation, photography, promotional assets and other related tasks for our global brands and owned properties. Duties include strategic oversight of the creative design team, budget management, technology integration and ownership of the brand’s look and feel.


DUTIES


- Evolve and ensure consistency and integrity behind our company’s brand and brand guidelines including typography, photography, color and tone of voice.
- Manage a production calendar and the teams responsible for meeting those deadlines.
- Oversee and improve the company’s creative team and its workflow to build an industry-leading operation. 
- Concept, develop and manage “best-in-class” creative solutions for a variety of media.
- Work within the constraints of a budget and within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend creative input sessions, client presentations, regular status updates and any meetings needed on a project basis.

REQUIRED SKILLS


• Possess a deep understanding of branding and content strategy with core strengths in design and communications.
• Knowledge of marketing, all forms of advertising and digital experiences, with proven conceptual and design abilities.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to foster team camaraderie and creativity are required to determine the Business Unit’s goals, resources needed and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe DPS. After Affects experience is a plus. Knowledge and experience with HTML is also preferred.
