Summary 
Under general supervision (may work independently most of the time) responsible for managing relationships with external PR agencies and Corporate PR, tracking media placements  relative to stated priorities and objectives on behalf of the business unit.  Works with channel marketing specialists to determine coordination with marketing priorities and campaigns, drafts press releases, articles and thought leadership content for both paid and earned media; and assists in projects as needed.  Provides a broad level of writing and communications support for the marketing team. 

Major Duties 
1.  Works with the marketing specialists and subject matter experts to develop, draft and/or direct the development of marketing/communication materials for internal and external purposes which may include BU-specific press releases, thought pieces, commentaries, promotional communications, presentations, talking points, etc.
2.  Create audience-centric messages that resonate and foster specific audience action steps.
3.  Works closely with marketing and PR partners (internally and externally) to ensure proper positioning of business unit content
5.  Researches and drafts content specific to BU themes, products,  and priorities to increase media opportunities for key BU spokespeople in industry and top tier outlets. 
6.  Assists with proof-reading and editing materials as needed 
7.  Assist in other ad hoc projects and assignments 
8.  Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact 
9.  May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management 
 
Knowledge/Skills 
Understanding of the basic principles of journalism, public relations, marketing or communications, usually acquired through a formal degree program or related experience is required 
Strong writing, editing, and proof-reading skills are required 
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines is required Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
Attentiveness to details is required to ensure accuracy and quality of work  
Knowledge of the financial services industry, especially asset servicing is a definite plus.

Experience Required 
A college or university degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or equivalent experience is required, and one or more years work experience required; agency or media experience preferred.
