Northern Trust’s Risk Data team is looking for an analyst to support a suite of credit risk applications and programs including the credit data warehouse, credit risk management and regulatory reporting. Lead delivery of initiatives including project scoping, data gathering and analysis, solution development, impact assessments and creation of executive summary artifacts. The analyst will support audit reviews/requirements of the design and operating effectiveness of those applications, processes and data. The individual will be responsible for creating and/or enhancing existing procedures, control documentation and data flow diagrams. The analyst will support and validate enhancements to existing applications and field ad-hoc data and reporting requests.

 

Required Skills

 

 

• Basic understanding of financial loan system(s) and credit products

 
• Strong knowledge base of US regulatory reporting requirements and risk management principles for Credit, including Basel III, CCAR and BCBS 239.

  

• Solid understanding of US bank accounting and finance principles; loan and/or GL systems a plus

 

 • Advanced analytical skills that demonstrate ability to learn how to navigate systems, access data, reconcile numbers from different sources, identify discrepancies and understand drivers of change within data.

  

• Proven process management and process improvement skills with meticulous attention to detail

   

• Ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities

Qualifications
 
• An undergraduate degree


• Minimum of 5 years in financial services industry


• Proficient using SQL and relational databases, in particular analyzing data with complex queries


• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups (VBA a plus)


• Experience building reports using BI tools, Business Objects, Congos and Power BI.


• Proven process management and process improvement skills with meticulous attention to detail


• Ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities
