Under general supervision, responsible for various corporate human resource programs in the Human Resources Service Center with a primary focus on leave and disability management.  The Human Resources Service Center counsels employees on general HR questions, including health and welfare plans, benefit programs and family assistance programs.

1.    Advise and consult with employees, managers and HR partners regarding leave eligibility and entitlements, employee responsibilities before and during their leave and facilitate resolution of complex benefit issues.
2.    Knowledge of and ability to consult on state/statutory leave laws.
3.    Researches and collects data for analysis of leave management.
4.    Partners with third party administrators to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.
5.    Responds to non-routine inquiries from management and employees regarding Leaves of Absence (LOAs) in a timely, customer centric manner.
6.    Conducts regular audits of the leave process to ensure adherence to policies, guidelines and regulations.
7.    Ensures that employees return to work as required and facilitates a high level of compliance with the return (e.g., medical restrictions as they pertain to the ADA, etc.).
8.    Identify issues with vendor and monitor resolution.
9.    Consult, report and monitor workers compensation.
10.  Monitors employee changes on the HR database as appropriate.
11.  Verifies that appropriate documentation is prepared and or completed for transactions, activities or ad hoc requests related to assigned business unit.  Verifies changes are in compliance with corporate policies and with current legislative requirements. 
 

Qualifications 

•   A College or University degree and some relevant human resources work experience associate with Disability and Leave  
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to clearly articulate process requirements and solutions to educate employees, managers and HR partners.
•    Ensure regulatory compliance for each leave.
•    Ability to defuse emotional conversations and exhibit empathy and sensitivity with employees.
•    Good judgment and critical thinking required to appropriately solve complex problems and escalate issues.
•    Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills are required.
•    Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Microsoft, PeopleSoft) required including excel skills to analyze and evaluate data.
