- Work with internal partners, clients, attorneys, co-trustees with respect to agricultural properties held in trusts and estates
- Direct management of agricultural properties, as well as working with local agent property managers in specific situations.
- Work with real estate brokers and attorneys for sales and acquisitions
- Manage the sales process Manage the acquisition process including completion of any necessary due diligence
- Develop annual budgets
- Oversee capital improvement projects
- Negotiate leases Confirm properties are compliant with regulations
- Complete annual investment reviews and making recommendations as to retention or sale of asset.
- Make presentations to internal partners as well as COIs, prospects and clients regarding services
- 10%-20% Travel
- Provide long term strategies to clients as to asset retention, liquidation, or acquisition.
- Provide consulting services on Advisory Service situations
Experience/Skills
·
A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture is preferred
·
Farm management experience that includes row
crops, livestock or ranching; timber knowledge
and experience is a plus though less critical
·
Excellent communication and client skills as
well as new business development and presentation skills required
·
Experience with or general understanding of
fiduciary law principles is preferred
·
Self-starter who can work independently and also
support partners across the organization with agricultural matters
·
AFM Certification Preferred
