The key responsibilities of the role include: 

An Analyst on the Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) Portfolio Administration Team manages all books of record, to ensure accurate representation of positions, transactions and cash, across all platforms via daily reconciliation and accounting. Adhere to global best practice and change management. The Analyst works under direct supervision, incumbents reconcile client accounts, verify cash and securities balances, research pricing issues, and work with securities operations staff to resolve settlement and trade-related problems.  May respond to basic client questions and refer more complex problems to more senior staff.

Responsible for providing client service through the execution of daily functions and tasks.
  • Understand and enhance desktop operating procedures and controls.
  • Responsible for providing timely response to queries and finding resolution to avoid repetitive actions. 
  • Works effectively both as a team member as well as an independent self-motivated individual. 
  • Responsible for multiple initiatives of various complexities.
  • Learn and develop core skills conducive to the success of the team
  • Cross train on other functions as well as provide backup.
  • Independently build relationships with internal and client contacts. 
  • Responsible for understanding client’s business needs and deliverables.
  • Understand current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are directly related to job function(s). 
  • Establish, build & maintain effective working relationships with key partners internal and external to the organization.
  • Drive the engagement of other partners as appropriate to solve client inquiries/issues.
  • Understand impact of personal job function(s)

The successful candidate will benefit from having:
  • A college or university degree and/or 2-5+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Previous Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and/or Investment Operations experience a plus
  • Previous exposure to business process and/or technology enhancement initiatives-
  • Previous Client Service experience in a service oriented environment 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of banking operations
  • Attention to detail
  • Works with a sense of urgency
